A renowned leader in providing innovative waste and environmental solutions aimed at sustainability and regulatory compliance is looking to expand their legal team with a Director, Legal in the Environmental sector of the business. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all legal matters pertaining to environmental compliance, regulation, and sustainability initiatives within the team and company. Leveraging your extensive experience in hazardous waste, clean air, and clean water, you will provide strategic guidance to senior management, lead a team of legal professionals, and interact with key regulators and press representatives.
The Director, Legal will:
- Provide expert legal counsel and guidance on all environmental matters, including hazardous waste management, air quality compliance, water pollution control, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance strategies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
- Lead a team of legal professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight on complex legal issues and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess potential environmental risks and liabilities associated with business operations and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
The Director, Legal must have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the US bar.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing environmental law, with a focus on hazardous waste.
- Management experience (5 + years).
